Guadalupe Loop: Almaden Quicksilver County Park

Mt. Whitney Lottery entry, express mail to Bishop, Ca!

Admittedly this weekend was a bit of a let down when compared against last weeks super hike. I paid a parking ticket, and a traffic ticket to the tune of almost $200 (could have been so much worse) along with some bills. The activities were fairly ho-hum as well, late-night fast food and getting out of bed at the crack of noon. Still, this weekend was important because the Mt. Whitney lottery application went out! Step number one in getting on top of the highest peak in the lower 48.

Because getting a date in the lottery alone is not enough to get to the top, Beylah and I also kept our legs warmed up this weekend with a quick 5 mile hike around Quicksilver Park. Photos from the hike:

  1. "A quick 5 mile hike" he says.

    You guys kill me.

    In a totally good way.

  2. P.S. LOVE the second to last photo.

  3. Well, the four-point-something almost 5 mile hike took us about an hour and a half which is pretty short for a hike I think.

Granted our pace was probably sped up a little since we were being trailed by a woman I affectionately dubbed "the human megaphone".

Speaking of rudeness, we also passed a guy smoking a cigar on the trail...
