Video: Lower Young Lake Panorama

Beylah and I decided to take advantage of the 4th of July holiday weekend and headed up to the Yosemite High Country for some backpacking. Leaving from Tuolumne Meadows near Lambert Dome we hiked up to Young Lakes via Dog Lake. It was the first trip either of had made in years to Yosemite and both of our first backpacking trip in the park. A full trip report to come later, for now a little unedited video clip.

  1. Awesome! Heading out there in 10 days, cant wait. Would very much like to hear more about the trip.

  2. The conditions are fantastic, bring plenty of bug repellent though they have all just hatched and are swarming especially near Delaney Creek.

Also be especially cautious crossing the shoulder of Ragged Peak along the Dog Lake trail, we got lost there and wasted a lot of time route finding (on the other hand we got a great view of Mt. Coneness by heading up higher on the flanks of Ragged Peak.

    Good Luck!
