New Post Schedule

For the last few months I've been trying to post roughly 5 days a week. When I was forced to miss a week of posts due to other obligations I ended up having posts shuffle right out of my schedule all together. Hence we've been basically in radio silence for the last few months.

Now things get more complicated as I begin a transition between jobs which is going to absorb more of my time (which, by the way I'm not complaining about I'm one of those rare people fortunate to love what they do for a living).

It's no longer realistic, or healthy (for myself or the blog) to try and churn out 5 posts a week like a factory. Instead I'm going to try and boost the production value a little bit and fix some of the back end stuff like the Bay Area hiking map that's been broken for almost 3 months.

That's the good news. The bad news is that for now anyway I'm going to cut back to one post a week. Probably Tuesday.

What do you think of this? Am I being a wuss or are you'll all just happy I'm actually going to be posting again?

  1. Post when you can, more posts, great! Less posts, still cool, the Internet will still be here if you are takin care of bidness in the real world.

  2. +1 to ADKinLA...

That being said, I have had similar issues. I have multiple trip reports stored in my head and a dozen unfinished gear reviews. The thought actually occurred to me to plan on a Wednesday post each week, but have several posts completed and on file for times when I'm too busy to put out good content. My theory is that good content trumps good quantity every time. Your readers will be thrilled every post!

  3. Good to hear that you are working regularly now. Now you have the same problem I've been having from the beginning. Sometimes my real life is too demanding to allow time for fooling around with fun stuff like blogging. I just plug away as best as I can as time permits.

Good luck with the new job.

  4. Hoping you'll be posting again... Miss you - this is good stuff!

  5. I feel your pain....I haven't been able to post for months due to my work and travel schedule. Things are slowing down for me now and I hope to start putting out 2-3 posts a week. I can also share statistics with you once again when your ready. I hope to hear from you soon.
